Title: Ubuntu On My Inspiron 537 Dell Date: November 15, 2009
Product Uses: real estate, word processing, email, surf internet

Review:I finally got Ubuntu loaded on my new Dell. It came with Windows 7, which seemed to fight me erasing it. With 7 the computer seemed sluggish, but that may also have to do with the pre-loaded junk-ware. "Do you want to wipe your nose? Are you sure you want to wipe your nose? Wiping your nose may expose you to security risks. Would you like to try a 90 day trial period for nose wiping software? Are you sure you don't want to order this software?" ARRRGGGhhh!!!

I debated just ordering a Dell with Ubuntu pre-loaded, but Windows 7 was only $2.00 more. We figured that for 2 bucks, we might need Windows someday. I hope not.
The computer really flies now with the 9.10 Ubuntu OS. Once I got it installed, it automatically got my wireless internet and printer running. No hassles at all.

I'm glad we got some extra ram. I didn't realize that a slim line computer needed a different wireless card. My old one didn't fit.

So now I have a great computer, and a great OS. I love my new monitor too. Great value.

Title: Love the Inspiron 537 Slim Date: November 12, 2009
Product Uses: church business, member records, contributions, ordering supplies, research

Review:This is probably 15th Dell computer that I've purchased for the church or myself. I have loved them all. This has to be a particular favorite as I love the slim tower and the capability to put it flat on the desk within easy reach. It also has a great monitor, DVDR and more media card readers than I have media. It has tremendous memory and speed. What more do I need to say? All my Dell's have been extremely reliable. I do recommend Dell to my friends all the time.

Review:I admit: I bought this PC primarily based upon price (Dell is hard to beat), and Dell's reputation for support.

I did have an issue with multiple monitor support, as I ordered an ATI video card upgrade which was advertised to support multi-monitors. Dell support worked with me to try to resolve the issue, but alas, I simply chose the wrong card, and it was too late to return it. I ended up buying a different video card, which worked.

The PC worked well with both Windows XP and Vista.

The slim case is a little bit limiting in terms of adding peripheral cards, but I specifically wanted the slim design to maximize the space on my desk - a definite improvement. I only wish I had ordered the media card reader - an upgrade I plan to add.

Review:I like my Inspiron 530s. Don't like the operating system (Windows Vista) but bought it because I get a free upgrade to Windows 7. I like the smaller tower.
