Review:Configuration:

I7 processor 720qm
4 Gigs 1333mhz ddr3 ram
500gb HD
ati radeon 1gb 4650
backlit keyboard/soundblaster
windows 7 home premium 64 bit
$1400 + tax

If your looking for a portable supercomputer, this will get the job done better than any other on the market at this price. toshiba makes one very similar called a quasio but its memory wasnt as good so i got this studio 17.

I cant say enough about the I7 processor it makes your system invincible, say goodbye to core 2 & quad this thing has 4 cores and 8 threads! I dont have to wait for anything, and it automatically overclockes itself as long as it stays cool!

1333 memory is faster than most desktops use and 4 gigs is twice the requirement for a smooth windows 7 and plenty for all games available.

500gig hard drive 7200rpm = desktop speed here.

the ati 1g 4650 ddr3 is upper middle class in gpu performance, it plays any game out at high settings except for a select few which are playable at medium. plenty powerful.

this laptop is only trumped by somthing with a slightly better GPU. other than that its the best on the market period. the full keyboard + number pad is nice as well. I use external speakers but the onboard JBL speakers are premium for a laptop, you can actually turn them up very loud without distortion and listen to music while working out! also you can buy an hdmi cable and plug this thing in to your 50 inch flat screen and watch dvd's with power dvd (that comes included). do yourself a favor if your a gamer and love an all in one beast of a package get this baby in the mail, it will last years.

Title: My Studio 17 Date: November 12, 2009
Review:I have heard good and bad things about Dell products. But I can only give an opinion based on my personal experience. I had a Dell Inspiron 1300 for about 5 years. It was damaged by a power overload due to a lightening strike while it was plugged in. I jus got my new Dell Studio 17. I had no problems with my Inspiron and I am loving my new Studio. It's fast, it performs well. It's stylish and I love that it has so many ports for peripherals and a keyboard with a number pad. Graphics look great on it and, though it is a little heavy, it is not at all unmanageable. The price was also very reasonable. I had been unable to find a Core 2 Duo processor for less. In short, I am a very satisfied, long-time, Dell customer.

Review:I've been purchasing Dell computers for years and this is my second laptop. One was a gift and the newest one is mine. I love the look, the ease of the keyboard and the performance. I am disappointed that I didn't get an offer for Windows 7 since I bought this so close to the release. I recommend this computer for anyone looking for an excellent laptio.

Review:Pros
Sleek design, awesome screen size, boots up super fast. I looked at a Mac 17" but the Dell was a much better value.

Cons
My only regret is that I did not opt for the backlit keyboard.

Review
I would highly recommend the Studio 17.
